A tweet by a foreigner saying, "Even if aliens invaded, the Japanese would put soy sauce on them and eat them," received 70,000 likes and became a hot topic in Japan. Indeed, Japanese people have a long-standing culture of eating things like octopus and squid raw with soy sauce, which many Westerners dislike.

In addition to these, they eat sea cucumbers, moray eels, "rotten beans" (natto), raw eggs, and raw fish, all with soy sauce. On the other hand, Japanese people generally cannot eat things like escargots, pigeons, frogs, and snakes. Personally, the worst thing I've ever eaten abroad was licorice gummies in Germany. They tasted like rubber.

『外国人がいこくじんがTwitterで「日本人にほんじんはエイリアンが襲おそってきても醤油しょうゆをつけて食たべる」と言いっててクソ笑わらった』と言いったツイートが7万まんいいねをつけて日本にほんで話題わだいに。たしかに日本人にほんじんは昔むかしから欧米人おうべいじんが嫌いやがるタコやイカなどを普通ふつうに醤油しょうゆをつけて生なまで食たべる文化ぶんかがあります。

その他ほかにも、ナマコやウツボ、「腐くさった豆まめ」（納豆なっとう）、生卵なまたまご、生魚なまざかななど、なんでも醤油しょうゆをつけて食たべています。逆ぎゃくに日本人にほんじんが食たべられないものは、エスカルゴや鳩はと、カエル、蛇へびなどです。個人的こじんてきに、私わたしが海外かいがいで食たべて一番いちばん不味まずいなと思おもったのは、ドイツで食たべたリコリスのグミです。ゴムみたいな味あじがしました。
