On the afternoon of March 29, the Japan Meteorological Agency declared that cherry blossoms had bloomed in Tokyo. The criteria for determining blooming involve observing cherry trees that serve as specimens for Someiyoshino cherry trees at Yasukuni Shrine, with the presence of five to six or more blossoms being the key factor. This year, the blooming occurred 15 days later than last year and 5 days later than usual, marking the slowest bloom in the past 10 years. It is expected that the cherry trees will be in full bloom in about a week.
