GAINAX, Renowned for "Neon Genesis Evangelion," Files for Bankruptcy
GAINAX, the studio behind iconic productions such as "Neon Genesis Evangelion," "Gurren Lagann," "Gunbuster," and "Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water," has officially declared bankruptcy.
The studio attributes its financial collapse to what it describes as "personalized management." This included the establishment of unplanned ventures such as restaurants and CG companies, as well as the issuance of large, unsecured loans to executives.
It's important to note that the rights to "Neon Genesis Evangelion" are owned by Khara, founded by Hideaki Anno, and sequels to the series are still anticipated.
