Tokyo Launches New Dating App to Combat Declining Birth Rates
With Tokyo's birth rate now at 0.99, the city has introduced a new initiative to tackle this issue: an original dating app.
Called "TOKYO Futari STORY," the app requires users to register with a photo ID, a certificate of singleness, and proof of income. Profiles will display information such as gender, age, height, income, academic background, and smoking habits to potential matches.
Elon Musk, who has previously voiced concerns about Japan's falling birth rate, responded to the news on X, stating, "I'm glad the government of Japan recognizes the importance of this matter."
